The 1st International Conference on Educational Technology and Artificial Intelligence (ICETAI 2026) concluded on August 29 after two days of sessions at the National Economics University (NEU) in Hanoi. Organized by the College of Technology, NEU, under the theme "Educational Transformation in the AI Era," the conference brought together researchers, educators, and technology partners from Vietnam and abroad. The 2nd edition, ICETAI 2027, is already being planned for Da Nang.
By the numbers

- 35 papers accepted after independent peer review — a 64 percent acceptance rate
- 20 papers selected for oral presentation across three parallel tracks

Opening remarks
Opening the conference, Prof. To Trung Thanh, Vice President of NEU, said generative AI is already present in every classroom. He noted that this makes personalized learning possible at a scale not seen before, while raising open questions about critical thinking, academic integrity, and the role of the teacher.
Two keynotes, one question
The program featured keynote talks from Prof. Shadiev Rustam of Zhejiang University, China, and Prof. Wu-Yuin Hwang of National Central University and National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan, both addressing how generative AI is reshaping the relationship between classroom instruction and real-world learning.
