ICETAI 2026 opened with an address from GS.TS To Trung Thanh, on behalf of the leadership of the National Economics University, welcoming delegates to the International Conference on Educational Technology and Artificial Intelligence, hosted by the College of Technology under the theme "Educational Transformation in the Age of AI."
AI already in the classroom
"Generative AI is already in our classrooms," he said, describing it as a technology that enables personalized learning at a scale not seen before, while raising urgent questions about critical thinking, academic integrity, and the role of the teacher. He framed these questions as especially pressing for Vietnam, where science, technology, and digital transformation have been named national strategic breakthroughs — and positioned technology and digital education as pillars of NEU's own path toward becoming a multidisciplinary university.
The numbers behind the conference
He reported the conference's academic results to date: 55 submissions from Vietnam, Taiwan, China, India, Japan, and Malaysia, of which 35 were accepted after independent peer review — a 64 percent acceptance rate — with 20 selected papers presented across three technical sessions. The proceedings, he noted, will be published by Springer.
What the two days would hold
GS.TS To Trung Thanh previewed the program: two keynotes from Prof. Wu-Yuin Hwang and Prof. Shadiev Rustam, a tour of the educational technology exhibition and poster showcase, and discussion across the parallel paper sessions — followed on the second day by an online session for international participants and a cultural program at Ha Long Bay.
Closing the address
He closed by thanking the keynote speakers, session chairs, reviewers, authors, partners, and sponsors, along with the College of Technology, the Faculty of Information Technology, and the organizing committee, before formally declaring ICETAI 2026 open and wishing delegates productive and memorable days in Hanoi.
